It wasn’t me, it’s my DNA – I

Chapter I: Where it all began opens diary I was just a normal child. Had a loving family of 5. My mom, dad and 2 siblings lived with me. It was anything anyone would dream of. Well, now I look back in grief, as things…haven’t been the same since the incident. The name’s Aiden Dryce, and this is the story, of how I became the first survivor of the ███████ experiment. Age 5: I was the only child in my family. I had no cousins that I knew of, and life was pretty much peaceful. My father and mother took great care of me. I had an unbreakable bond with things that fascinate me, like technological marvels and counterintuitive puzzles. It was rather amusing. One day, I decided to go on a road trip with my father’s friend, and on the way to a far away city, a can of blue gloss spray paint fell onto my head. There was a blue streak going down my brown hair. I looked in the mirror, and I liked it. I asked my parents later that day, whether I could get a hair streak like that. They refused at first, but later came to an agreement. That’s why I have that blue tip, to this day. Age 10: My first sibling, Jaxen, was born. I felt joy in his eyes as he looked at me with a smile. It was so pure that I was inspired to continue on with my talents and desires. School was somewhat of a challenge as not everyone wanted to become friends with me. But that was fine, as most of the teachers were on good terms with my parents, hence their laidbackness with me. Age 12: Puberty, one of a boys worst nightmare started to emerge at this point. It’s rather embarrasing but to keep things brief, I underwent 3 seperate growth spurts over the course of a month. I’ve grown from around 4′ tall, to 6’1″ and it’s somewhat scary how it happened so fast. I’ve had a few people in my friend circle at this time and our studies were going pretty well. March 4, 20██: It was my birthday. I’ve turned 13. I’ve been given presents for the first time. I’ve recieved a drawing tablet, an RC Car, and a smartphone. This will be important later on. Age 14: This is where my life truly began to take a wild turn. Started losing friends, get bullied, get failing grades and falling into depression. It was cliché but true. I’ve never been so negative in my life up to this point. My father, Howard Dryce, has left the mortal coil in a freak accident involving a bionic limb. It was traumatizing to see a smile, before the entire room exploded into smithereens. Side note: I’ve recieved a laptop, and a bicycle during this timeframe. Once again, crucial onwards.
