It wasn’t me, it’s my DNA – V

Chapter V: Thrice or Nothing I felt a sense of ease. It felt like I was in freefall, where speed and distance had no meaning. I was almost certain that I would be gone in the next few seconds. That’s when it hit me. I was still alive. “I can breathe in space?” I exclaimed. I noticed my broken arm as I was gently hovering in this weird world. I started to attempt manifesting my own enhancements with the knowledge that E3 gave me before he turned offline. As my eyes turn blue, my thoughts became more advanced, even for my standards. “Bike wheels, huh? If I copy the DVD drive rotor and use the wheels to modify them as some drone wings, I could essentially propel myself. But I’ll need an exhaust source. Hmmm. Aha! That wire I absorbed earlier. I can use it to overcharge the battery to basically make a fuse. Love it.” As these words popped to my mind, I began creating various constructs which then finally turned into a pair of wings with drone blades on it, along with a complimentary jet nozzle. “Woohoo!” I tried flying back up into the station in hopes of finding an escape. I reached a white platform from below, which had no easy opening in. I tried that little oozing technique that E3 did earlier, to merge, and fit through a small crevice in the panel. Once I got in, I stealthily flew and found another power source. This time it was this little cylindrical device, with some circuitry similar to E3’s. Without hesitation I put it next to my chest and there was a flash of energy and I was blown away like a Kinecelaran on a lightning storm. E3: “I am up and running. What happened?” Aiden: “We were falling into space and you turned offline, so I tried manifesting my own parts for a change. You still wouldn’t turn on so I hooked up this cylindrical thingy-“ I was talking to him with the device in my hand. E3: “Wait what? Are you serious? That’s basically an Omnimatrix Core!” Aiden: “Omnimatrix…Omnitrix? So you’re telling me that this is the same device that-“ E3: “Multigalactic hero Ben Tennyson uses? Yes. Yes it is.” Aiden: “But I thought he was just a myth. How could I’ve been so ignorant?” E3: “It happens to the best of us. Anyhow, let me see that Omnitrix core.” Aiden: “Sure bud.” E3: “Hmm, I see. That’s not an Omnitrix core. The Omnitrix has circuitry going in from the C48 to D29 in hexagonals. This one has it going in a 90° angle.” Aiden: “Uh, English?” E3: “Right. What I mean is that this core is different from the actual Omnitrix core.” Aiden: “How would you know about that?” E3: “I’m a Galvanic Mechamorph, duh. My entire race was made by Azmuth by accident, and I was one of the last that he made manually before his untimely demise.” Aiden: “Oh, I’m sorry. Anyway, if this isn’t an Omnitrix core, what is it?” E3: “I’ll explain in a bit. But first, open your mouth and eat it.” There was a brief silence. E3: “Open your mouth.” Aiden: “Eat it? Pardon me? This is a one-of-a-kind piece of technology and you want me to eat it?” My mouth opens without my free will, for it to change somewhat. I couldn’t really see it but, once I put my arm in front of it, there was a blue glow. E3: “Now put it in your mouth. Your body does the rest.” I nervously put the core in my mouth for it to attach to the roof of my mouth and merge with it. I felt a static shock going from my face and down to my feet. E3: “That, my friend, is a Mechamorph utility core. I basically brought on you what Mr. Tennyson would call, an Upgrade.” I looked at my hand. My fingertips began gaining a circuit pattern which loosely resembles the utility core. I looked at my left shoulder. I felt something move in an odd manner. With a minor explosion, my arm regrew with nearly twice its original function. Aiden: “Woah, sweet!” I started feeling a little cold. Must be the cooling systems, I thought. I kept walking straight ahead the narrow hallway floored with white panels. pluck pluck pluck I activated the extra sensitive mic using the absorbed pieces to pick up the sound I was hearing. It didn’t sound human. E3: “I sense an entity. It’s not human, and it doesnt feel organic. It, it has this weird metallic, but a bell-like sound to it.” Aiden: “Is there a way we can observe the area without getting ourselves hurt? I mean, it does sound kinda dangerous and I wouldn’t wanna get myself hurt again. Is there something I could build out of me to, like, go stealth or something?” Right after I uttered those words, my body straightened. My HUD showed some words and I reluctantly did what it said. I closed my eyes and I felt a buzz go from my chest, outward. There were 2, nearly identical copies of myself right infront of me. I have triplicated. I nervously blurted, “Uh, hi?” E3: “Before you communicate with any of them, I should say that you are the original. The clones are seperate entities but with their minds synced to yours. Meet AD2 and AD3, as I’ve named them.” AD3: “Hey there, no need to be shy, I’m just you, an identical copy. More like a sentient solid hologram.” AD2: “That’s right. Also, try not to have an identity crisis or anything but, when all of us split, our personalities split too.” Aiden: “Right, makes sense. So will you still take damage, or?” E3: “These two can act as diversions or distractions to help you. I currently only have the power to make 2 clones, but I believe its more than enough for you to observe the premises.” I look around, and notice two hallways that this one forks into. Aiden: “There are 2 paths that this hallway forks off into. Maybe both of you could check ’em out?” AD2 and AD3: “Gladly.” Both of my clones run to the path nearest from them and I silently observed for a sound. Footsteps went on for about five seconds, and then I heard a clack and an explosion. The sound of the footsteps echoed until a gunshot-like sound was heard from both of the paths. Aiden: “What was that?” E3: “Both of them got terminated. But using the camera roll, I can deduce that this entity is not like any other.” A display gets projected onto the nearby wall from my chest. AD1: “This is kinda weird.” E3: “But you admit it’s cool. Anyway, I’ve done some research on beings that hop from one universe to another. So called multiverse hopping beings. Ever heard of the SCP Foundation, Aiden?” AD1: “Yeah, Secure Contain Protect. We had our area’s facility located back at our hometown, and I had some clearance to access some of the chambers. Is the Foundation existent beyond Earth?” E3’s voice suddenly becomes deeper and of a more serious tone. E3: “Yes. Besides other extraterrestrials, there are certain anomalies that simply cannot be explained directly through science. However, this one is a simpler one to explain, yet dangerous. Keter Class. Does this one come to mind Aiden? The one known as…SCP…..5…1…0…4.” I go silent. As each number was being said my mind slowly went blank. I couldn’t believe it. It’s on the loose. And it’s quite possibly my fault. Originally Written and Posted in CreativeWriter on 26th April 2021 by Enchanc3.
