The light poured into the room. Alex woke up all drowsy and weak from staying up all night talking to his friends and playing games. The whole place was a mess. The cloths that he wore a day before lying on the floor with his other garments, a messy desk with all the stationary unorganized and a small white Dell laptop resting in its place as if it was never used but the fan in it small body cooling it as if it was used recently. Alex always had a thing for horror movies and horror stories. This is clearly visible as the alarm clock represented a zombie hand and the books and cd’s filled cupboard next to his blue bed in which he slept. The teenager walks slumped to the bathroom and brushes his teeth and washes his face like he was eager to get the day started. This was not the side to him that others see however it seems something important to him was waiting downstairs. He put on his red and black ghost buster’s cap, his round and freckled face gleaming with anticipation for the glorious day ahead of him. The staircase creaked as he came downstairs. Agatha and John were in the living room. Agatha wearing a short dress with Hawaiian flowers placed a plate of pancakes for John. Her white face but dark circles near her eyes indicated that she didn’t get enough sleep and something was bothering her. John on the other hand showed no emotion was reading todays newspaper that was fetched by the family dog Percy that is now resting near his bowl in the kitchen, waiting for his breakfast. Even though they are almost in their thirties they don’t look even a bit older than twenty. Alex sat down beside his dad and started to eat his cereal after his mother had placed it closer to him on the dining room table. He ate as fast as he could despite having eggs and wafers presented on the green decorated table. Whatever that was happening was going to happen soon. The doorbell rang, confirming what was already known. The person that he was expecting was here at last. He hurried up and finished his meal before kissing his mom and waving his dad goodbye. The door opened to reveal his best friend Anna waiting patiently for him. She wore her blue shirt and military patterned jeans with a basketball in hand. They had planned to go to the basketball court. The morning breeze brushed against young Alex’s skin. He trembled beneath the cold outdoors but showed no emotion to his companion. Anna has been friends with Alex since second grade. The two rode on their mountain bikes and headed towards the court. They had no idea what waits for them ahead.
